How to remove Scratches from the windshield

 

The windshield of the car is exposed to many different weather conditions, which may cause some minor scratches on the glass. In the stormy weather, the sand and gravel may fall on the car and thus damage the windshield. These scratches, although minor, affect the driver's vision when driving and can cause traffic accidents, particularly at night or when the sun is reflected on them. So when you notice some minor scratches, you should clean, treat and handle them.

 

 

How to remove Scratches from the windshield

 

There are some ways you can use to get rid of minor scratches on your car's glass. Try one of the following methods to get rid of windshield scratches.

 

1- Use toothpaste

This method may be effective in case of minor scratches only. Bring a clean cloth for polishing the glass, put a little toothpaste on it and then wipe it off. Repeat the process as needed and according to the number of scratches. Finally, wipe the toothpaste residue with a damp cloth, look for the remaining scratches and repeat the process.

2. Use polish

If the previous method fails, you can try using car polish. Place the polish on the scratches on the glass surface and rub the surface in a circular way using a dry cloth.

 

3. Use ammonia mix

Mix 15 mm of ammonia powder with three cups of water. Bring a clean cloth and put it in the mix. After you have soaked the cloth, use it and rub it with circular way. After finishing, wipe the glass with another clean cloth and repeat the process as needed.

 

4. Use polishing stone

Bring a new sponge and put the stone on it. Rub the glass with circular way and then wipe the surface with a clean cloth. Repeat the process if needed.

5. Use triangular iron oxide

Triple iron oxide is a red crystalline powder found with a buffing pad. Use a little powder polish on the scratches and rub them in circles. Repeat the process until the scratching is diminished. Then wash the glass with ammonia and water mixture to get rid of the powder.

 

If the scratches of the glass are deep and large, we do not recommend you to use the previous methods to fix these scratches.
