5 Wrong Practices that Hurt your Car AC

 

Air Conditioner is an important part of cars in any country and in both hot and cold weather. But some may misuse the car air conditioner by wrong practices, which leads to a damage to the air conditioner and lack of efficiency required. Therefore, it affects you and may lead to distraction due to the inconvenient temperature and irregular heat in the car.

 

There are many wrong practices committed by car owners of different ages and in different types of cars, these are the 5 worst practices that hurt your car conditioner:

 

1. Not keeping Auto system on

 

Many cars have the Auto button which recycles the air inside the car automatically. It is preferable to operate this system which prevents the accumulation of fog and condensation in the windows which, in turn, can cause vision difficulty. Maintaining a constant temperature and letting the air conditioner in a position to manage itself is the best way to maintain visibility.

2. Hogging the vents

 

While it is nice to get a boost of air on your face after a long hot day, it will strongly affect the car conditioner. As your face becomes cold, the AC will need more time to cool the air in the cabin due to poor air distribution coming out from the air conditioner. Instead, protect your AC and set the air conditioner vents up to allow efficient cold air distribution inside the cabin.

 

3. Don’t turn the AC on directly

 

Some people usually turn on the air conditioner directly when getting into the car and this is one of the most common mistakes. In this case,  the AC is recycling the hot air which is already inside the cabin and thus a greater effort on the air conditioner to cool the hot air. So, you should first open doors and windows for a while to refresh the cabin and let the hot air out. Then turn on the air conditioner and enjoy the refreshing air.

 

4. Not performing regular maintenance

 

As with any part of the car, the air conditioner needs regular maintenance to ensure that it works efficiently and effectively. 5 - Turning AC while leaving windows open

 

Some people turn on the air conditioner and leave windows a little bit  open, especially in the refreshing mornings. But this may negatively affect the air conditioner due to rising heat which needs a greater efforts to cool the cabin. In natural situations, the air moves from hot spots to cooler areas. So, cool air inside the cabin will be replaced by hot air and so on.
