Qatar to Open the First Electric Car Manufacture in the Middle East

 

For the first time in the Arab region and the Middle East, Qatar is preparing to announce the opening of the first electric car manufacture in cooperation with a senior Japanese company in electric cars industry.

 

The opening of the manufacture will be on Wednesday 19/9/2018. Ali Bin Nasser Al Misnad, Executing manager of the project, said that the first manufacture of its kind in the Middle East will be built on an area of 6 million square meters.

 

This step in the electric car industry parallel Qatar Vision 2030, which aims at economic development and economic diversification in Qatar, he said. This also confirms that Qatar is a great investment environment which has a strong and growing economy.

 

The project is estimated to cost about $ 9 billion and the production capacity of the project will be fully completed after 7 years. The production of the first car is likely to coincide with the World Cup in 2022, marking the launch of the first electric car with the slogan "Made in Qatar".

 

He stressed that the factory will not be as other factories located in most Arab countries, but will be an integrated car manufacturer that will provide and invent cars in accordance with the highest international standards.
