Qatari driver Nasser Al-Attiyah won yesterday the Cross-Country Rally World Cup 2017 after winning the Moroccan Rally Championship.
Al Attiyah topped the list with a total of 10.39.34 hours, 7.55 minutes ahead of Frenchman Sebastien Loeb, who finished second with 10.47.29 hours. Spain's Juan Nani was third with a total time of 11.04.19 hours.
With this result, Al Attiyah jumped to the top of the overall drivers list after he was the second for the past 4 days and the French driver Lopez. Al Attiya won the title for the fourth time and third consecutive (2008, 2015, 2016 and 2017).
Although Al-Attiyah took second place in the fifth and final stage of the race behind the Spanish driver Khun Nani Rome by just 8 seconds, the total time difference gave the Qatari driver the title.
Al-Attiyah is a Qatari rally driver and sport shooter. He participated in the Production World Rally Championship (PWRC), which he won in 2006, and the Dakar Rally, which he won for the first time in 2011 and again in 2015.
