Video and pictures .. Emir’s parade on Doha Corniche

In a scene that shows the highest sense of allegiance and loyalty, citizens and residents gathered in Doha Corniche yesterday evening to welcome His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, who retuned from the United Nations after his participation in the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Qataris and members of the expatriate community lined the road along the Doha Corniche's waterfront to greet Emir Tamim. Some people even gathered for hours before the parade to celebrate the event.

At around 6 in the afternoon traffic along the main thoroughfare leading from the airport was blocked to make way for the Emir and his official welcoming party.

The corniche was filled with the Qatari flag, and citizens and residents stood on both sides of the road to greet His Highness, who stopped over many times to great everyone and shake hands with people.
